  • There are so many health benefits of the acai berry. This berry is high in anthocyanin, which is a type of antioxidant that supports lowering cholesterol levels in the blood. Another one of the healthy benefits of the acai berry is their richness in plant sterols that provide protective cardio benefits to our cells. Acai berries are abundantly grown in South America, but if you are in North America your best way to get the health benefits of the acai berry is to purchase frozen acai and use them to make an acai bowl or smoothie.

    Directions

    1. Place the frozen acai, bananas, and almond milk in a high-powered blender, preferably a Vitamix machine. Blend until fully mixed and has a texture like a very thick smoothie.

    2. Pour the blended mixture into a nice sized bowl, then add sliced banana, strawberries, blueberries, Eatnuts.com Raw Almonds, and granola (Eatnuts.com Blueberry Coconut Gluten Free Granola Recipe) on top.

    3. Serve immediately before it melts, and simply enjoy.

Enjoying an acai bowl is almost like the experience of enjoying a smoothie bowl. The acai bowl has the flavor somewhere between a raspberry and blackberry, and the banana and Eatnuts.com Homemade Almond Milk smooth out the edges, balancing the flavor. The additional textures from the toppings add dimension to the experience of eating the acai bowl. The granola brings in a crunch and sweetness, and the fruits enhance the berry bowl flavoring. Drizzle honey over the top if desired.
