Ingredients List:

  • 1½ cups black beans (a 15oz can, drained and rinsed well)
  • 1 tablespoons cacao powder or 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ½ cup quick oats
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ coconut oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ cup Eatnuts.com Walnuts
  • ½ - 1 cup chocolate chips
  • These amazing Black Bean Walnut Brownies are flourless, have no dairy, and are gluten free. Adding chocolate chips and walnuts make these brownies hard to tell apart from a traditional brownie.

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    2. Combine all ingredients in a food processor except for the walnuts and chocolate chips. Blend until completely smooth.

    3. Stir in chocolate chips and Eatnuts.com Walnuts, then pour mixture into an 8x8 pan. Optional: set aside some chocolate chips and Eatnuts.com Walnuts to sprinkle on top before placing in the oven.

    4. Bake in oven for 15-20 minutes. Then let cool for 10 minutes prior to cutting.

    5. If they seem undercooked, simply place them in the fridge to firm up.

These brownies are so tasty and have the perfect texture and consistency. The chocolate chips are an absolute must, making every bite rich in chocolate and textures. The inclusion of walnuts amp up the nutritional profile while adding dimension and flavor to the brownies. It is next to impossible to imagine that these brownies are flourless and made with black beans.
