Ingredients List:

  • 3 cups Whole Raw Almonds
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil or coconut oil
  • 4 Tbsp. coarsely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
  • 4 Tbsp. coarsely chopped fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar or brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • ½ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • Roasting your own nuts lets you not only control which ingredients that you put into a recipe, but it also refines your management over the flavors you want from the nuts. Roasting almonds can be rather fun, filling up the house with several beautiful aromas. Best of all, the almond nutrients are not compromised when roasting almonds, making them still rank high as a healthy snack food. If you have children, you want to make sure you are providing them almonds as a snack.     1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

    2. Pour oil into small saucepan on med-low heat or until warm. Be careful, as the oil can get too hot and burn.

    3. Add chopped rosemary and thyme and allow to get warm for about 1 minute.

    4. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the cumin and cayenne powder.

    5. Pour flavored oil over the nuts and spread evenly.

    6. Sprinkle with sugar, salt and pepper and stir again.

    7. Transfer to a baking sheet for 15 minutes and bake, stirring after the first 10 minutes.

    8. Let cool and store in an air tight container for up to two weeks.
