  • If you have ever enjoyed a chai tea latte you must have wondered at some point how to make a chai tea latte. Chai tea is traditionally a blend of different spices with black tea, milk, and sugar. It originally was a poor man’s drink and was a way to use what was found in an almost bare cupboard.

    1. Prepare the Cashews by soaking them in water overnight, then strain.

    2. Brew tea by seeping the tea bags in 2-4 cups of hot water or by boiling loose leaf chai in 4 cups of water and then straining before using for the recipe.
      * You can purchase a loose leaf chai tea or make your own by using black peppercorns, cloves, fennel seed, anise seed, cinnamon, coriander, allspice, nutmeg, dried ginger, and black tea leaves.

    3. In a high powered blender or Vitamix machine blend all the ingredients except for the chai tea bags. Blend until completely smooth.

    4. Continue to blend for 6+ minutes or until your latte is steaming hot.

    5. Serve as is or use a nut bag to drain the fiber from your chai latte.

This wonderful tea has the sweetness of a chai latte with the aroma of spices and flavor of chai tea. The cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, and other spices along with the traditional black tea flavors marinating with the pecan and cashew creamy blend makes this latte a one of a kind, delicious treat.
